RV Theft Prevention

Your RV is a valuable financial asset – and potential thieves know this. While it’s not common, it is possible for RVs to be stolen. Use the following tips to help protect your RV against theft.

Change Your RV’s Locking System

Most RVs come with a standard locking system, which means that the locks on your rig will likely be similar to many other campers at your campground. This makes your vehicle vulnerable to crafty thieves who may use an RV key that they have got hold of to get an easy entry into your rig. So, before you hit the road, consider upgrading your camper’s locking system for better safety.

Reduce Temptations

Even if a thief fails to steal your camper, they can still get away with your expensive items, such as laptops, mobile phones, and jewelry.

Keep your valuables safe by drawing the blinds in your rig and placing your expensive belongings out of sight. This will help you avoid attracting the attention of any crooks lurking in your campground.

Always Use the Locks

Remember to take your time to lock your RV’s doors, windows, and any other entry points, every time you leave your campground. If a thief has a choice between an unlocked RV and a locked RV, they’re going to choose the easier situation of an unlocked RV! It may seem overly simple, but always using your locks can be a helpful deterrent.
